Almost through the pandemic

Because people wore masks, stayed apart, and got vaccines.

COVID is still here but

Deaths and cases decrease

Every day.

Finally, we see the light at the end.

Gathering together outside, maskless.

Happy to be with friends because

Jabs in arms protect us.

Keeping cautious as we prepare for

Life beyond COVID.

Making our way back to normalcy but

Nobody knows what normal is anymore

Only that we are trying to get back to it.

Plans are made to open everything up while we

Quietly cheer but

Remain vigilant and

Stay alert.

The end is near

Unless people refuse

Vaccinations.

Waiting for herd immunity so we can hug and kiss again.
